This website, DundeeHillsWines.com, is a site dedicated to some the most wonderful wines and wine growing regions of North America!

The Dundee Hills appellation wine region is a ridge of hills located approximately 30 miles southwest of Portland and 40 miles inland from the great Pacific Ocean. This location allows for some unique climatic and topographical features that distinguish the Dundee Hills from some of the neighboring wine regions.

The makeup of their rich, red soil is a key factor to the great grapes that come from this area. The eastern side of the Dundee Hills, are made up of what is called Jory Soils. This soil type is rich in iron, drains well but is only moderately fertile. This is all important factors for a deep concentration of flavor and complexity within a developing grape. The dominant grape in this area is the Pinot Noir.
